You can never have too much tartan

My mum has just come back from a trip to Scotland and she introduced Ness Clothing to me via a rather cute new handbag she was toting around. After jumping online quicksmart, I've found more handbags to love. I think the tartan is just gorgeous

A rosy week

I'm spreading some Monday morning cheer with this wildly beautiful antique looking rose bush I found in the Barossa Valley a couple of weeks ago. It was climbing up the end of a row of gnarled old grapevines which are probably older than I am!

Hope you all have a 'rosy' week!

Happy 4th of July

Wishing everyone (in the USA) a very Happy 4th of July!  For me, the celebrations, hot weather and gathering of families felt a little like how Christmas and New Years feel in Australia!  Was great!  Now to enjoy those fireworks....

I *heart* fabulous wallpaper

I am quite enamoured with this wallpaper from The Art of Wallpaper. If I had a great big kitchen, I would paper one wall with this gorgeousness OR I would use it as a splashback with clear glass in front of it. Am feeling rather inspired to renovate kitchens all of a sudden...

Dream Mixer

I have searched high!  I have searched low!  I have searched here, there and everywhere, but alas, could never find the kitchen mixer of my dreams.... Until now!

Drum-roll please *drum roll*

Meet the award-winning Anna Raff - Anna - you have done it again!!  You have devised the "right attachment" for my old kitchen mixer.  Your magnificent imagination, creativity and ingenious artistic skills are a fresh, new inspiration!

I was thrilled to find out that I could buy my very own digital print of this beauty at her Etsy shop here!  I bought my copy today, which I will frame and put up in my kitchen!

One of my heart's desires...

On 'A Cup of Jo' today, she has featured "EmersonMade clothing".

This picture completely and utterly captures where I want to be living (beautiful country setting), what I'd love to be doing (be outdoors, have my own chooks to collect eggs from, pick fresh veggies from my own veggie garden) on my mornings/afternoon after work, and enjoy the surroundings on the weekend.  Sit out on a porch with a cuppa tea, have lovely family dinners outside... *ahhh* Completely and utterly irresistible!

Little Jamie Oliver in the making

My almost 3 year old nephew insists he wants an apron for his birthday so he can bake 'biccies' with mum. So dutifully I'm on the hunt for cute little boy aprons. I found this farmyard apron on Etsy (photo and apron by SheenaMarie85 ) and I'm a little smitten.

I can't take my eyes off of you...

Ok, I might be showing my age here just a bit, but I remember back in the day where one of the first things I sewed with my Mutti was this floral roper and I just LOVED it!  I wore it everywhere, and was so sad when:

1. It went out of fashion (perhaps mine was never in fashion, but as a teen I loved it and felt great!) and
2. I grew out of it.

SO - to my absolute delight, I was looking around on modcloth the other day and lo and behold I discovered a floral romper called "too good to be true"!!

Now I know I could sew something again, but this is WAY to cute to pass up!  Perfect for the wonderfully hot summery days that we are having!  Now all I need are some cute shoe to go with it - any ideas?

What's your twitter background?

For those of you out there that love to tweet, have you thought about (or do you already have) your own twitter background?

I was inspired by Mama Magpie's twitter page, and decided to google 'twitter backgrounds' to see what I could discover.  I found these photos pictured above from social identity.

Personally, I'd love something unique from Anna Raff from her Ornithoblogical collection!  I think she'd create the perfect water-colour twitter-themed bird!

I also found Fresh ID that I thought had some really creative ideas.  Don't you like being able to customise and personalise things that you use, just to give it that unique spin?

For the love of Chalk!

I was happily drooling/flicking through the latest and lovely Anthropologie booklet last night, and then today on poppytalk (one of my daily reads) I saw these pictures.  Which lead me to another post on the blog about a Chalkboard Thought Bubbles:

I love this creative idea to use as a message board for around the house, or perhaps to write up a cute little menu for an outdoor dinner party.  The options are endless!  Definitely on my wish list!
